Chickadees nest in cavities in the soft wood of dead or dying trees and are frequent visitors to backyards. These curious little birds will sometimes take sunflower seeds from an outstretched hand. Their song is a clear, two-pitched fee-bee, and their call sounds much like their name, chick-a-dee.
