Travel to the National Field Trial Championships to meet some extraordinary Pointers. This is the super bowl for bird hunting dogs but not all pointers are trained to hunt birds – some are trained to hunt humans and other animals! Debra Schadt, a dog trainer from New Jersey, is one of the only people in the country to use pointers for search and rescue. Debra and her dogs, Juda and Calista, demonstrate the art of ground and air scent tracking. The pointer is also a champion show dog. Laurie Shroyer raises champion show pointers and reveals the breed's gentle nature and love of affection.
